[On the evening of the 24th, there will be a knock at Ziggy's door. Clara runs off before it's answered, but there's a gift left behind. There's a bundle of wrapped books. One is a new, pristine copy of a random YA novel where there's absolutely no romance and the female lead is kicking ass and taking names. She figured that Ziggy deserves something better than just classical literature to occupy her time with.
There's also a handmade leather bound journal, one with blank pages. Written on the first page is a note from Clara.
Ziggy, I've learned that the best stories are those we write for ourselves. Never be afraid to dig deep inside the darkest, scariest parts of yourself and pull out every little detail. Let the words find their way onto the page, guided by your hand and your experiences. And one day, whenever your story's complete, I'd love to be the first one to read everything.
[Sabriel's gift to Ziggy comes wrapped in dark blue paper, and tied with a silver ribbon. Inside there is a dagger, washed in silver with Charter marks that seem to slide over and through the metal. There is also a sheath for it, fastened to a sturdy leather belt that has several leather pouches attached to it.
There is also a silver charm, of braided wire and also shining with Charter Magic.
There is also a small handwritten note attached.]
I hope you won't need this, but it's better to be safe
( If Ziggy's intending to lock herself away again, she's not doing so without food so, he's brought her a covered tray with half a sandwich, a cup of soup, apple slices and something to drink.
[Ziggy doesn't respond at first; McCoy will have to do another series of knocks before she relents, opening the door a crack to peer out from the dimly lit space behind her. Wariness morphs into exasperation the moment she locks eyes with him.]
I don't need room service. Shouldn't you be in bed resting?
Should be, but someone's makin' me wait. ( He's quick to give her a once-over, then nods behind her, gesturing with the tray. ) Scoot, so I can put this down.
[She steps to the side, mostly because she knows McCoy is as stubborn as she is — and she really, really doesn't have the energy to battle him for hours until someone relents. The room is pretty bare, and terribly immaculate. A calendar with a number count on the passing days hangs on the wall next to a small desk with a small pile of young adult books. Wrappers for easy to eat rations fill one lone trashcan, and a small, neatly folded pile of clothes sit on a small shelf. The clock at her bedside is set to go off on a timer at 2:00 PM for lunch.
Ziggy stands with her arms folded, lips thinned.]
You brought food. Cool.
Now you should go get back into bed before you pull something, old man.
Have you seen the type of people in here? Definitely an open door policy. [ fuck the people buying their way in tbqh. ] Now it's up to us to redistribute the goods, starting with the books. Anything catch your eye?
That's an option?? Well, shit, why didn't anyone tell me? Find me something. Horror, no horror, I'm down with whatever. Doesn't even have to be good as long as it's so bad I can make fun of it.
yes this is a fictional series made for giva, whadda want from me
Well They've got this fantasy book series about a guy with the head of a hawk called Journey Through the Heartland? Or I guess there are a bunch of people in the books who are cursed with animal heads. They travel the countryside fighting the evil that had cursed them so other people aren't cursed, too. The longer they have the animal heads, the more they turn into that animal and act like them and lose their memories and humanity.
It's super weird but interesting. It's just too bad I don't do drugs, I'd probably be really invested.
Considering we’re not actually dead at the moment, I’m gonna go with sleep is still mandatory. But if my best friend taught me anything it’s that hypotheses have to tested.
How’s this: stay up at the library, check out all the books, then see if we’re about to keel over come morning.
Sure, it's a classic. Parts of it didn't age well, [ immediately starting with kenickie, you know what you said ] but the music's catchy. What other movies do you want to see? If we find them, we can make it a movie marathon.
I'm guessing a LOT of things from my time didn't age well, so that's not a big shocker. I wish I could tell you what other movies I want to see, but they're all from the future and I have no clue what came out in the future. You see my predicament.
